In the mouth
The palate is broad and well-structured, with ripe tannins that frame the fruit without dominating. Flavours of dark berries, cracked pepper and slate minerals develop through the mid-palate, leading to a sustained and refined finish that echoes the wine's aromatic complexity.
On the nose
A complex bouquet unfolds gradually: dark cherry and blackberry notes mingle with white pepper, liquorice and subtle floral hints. The aromatic profile speaks to both the Syrah variety and the distinctive terroir of the appellation.
On the eye
Deep, dark garnet robe with an almost opaque centre, suggesting considerable concentration.

This is classic Cornas: a wine that embodies the power and elegance of the northern Rhône. The 2021 vintage shows excellent balance between fruit ripeness and structural integrity. It will develop further over the coming years, but is already drinking with considerable pleasure. Ideal with game and rich meat dishes; also rewarding simply as a contemplative glass.

Domaine Pierre Amadieu is a family wine estate in Gigondas (Vaucluse), Southern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1929. Around 135 hectares of vines. Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault. Appellations: Gigondas, Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône Villages. One of the largest Gigondas estates. Cuvée Romane Machotte among the most sought-after.
