  • This is a wine of considerable structure and ripe fruit character. Crafted using traditional vinification methods that honour both the vineyard and the vintage, it represents the serious winemaking for which Pierre Gaillard's estate is recognised.
  • Traditional élevage and careful cellar work have produced a wine of genuine balance and depth. The approach respects the terroir whilst allowing the natural character of the fruit to emerge with clarity and precision.
  • This wine possesses the substance and tannin structure to complement robust dishes with confidence. Grilled beef, a fine côte de boeuf, roasted meats, and dishes prepared with rich sauces will all find an ideal partner here.

In the mouth
The palate shows admirable equilibrium. Ripe tannins are silken and well-integrated, providing structure without dominating the fruit. The wine possesses good length and a dry, clean finish characteristic of serious Rhône reds.
On the nose
The bouquet opens with dark berry fruits—blackcurrant and plum—supported by subtle spice notes. There is good aromatic presence without any sense of heaviness or overripeness.
On the eye
Deep ruby colour with good intensity and clarity.
Breeding
Aged 14 months in barrels for the Syrahs, in vat for the Grenaches.
M. Francois
This wine will serve admirably with grilled meats and roasted game. A côte de boeuf, prime roasting joints, and meat-based dishes prepared with sauce will all benefit from its structure and fruit balance. The wine's restraint and balance make it equally suitable for unhurried appreciation on its own merit.

DOMAINE PIERRE GAILLARD

Domaine Pierre Gaillard is a wine estate in Malleval (Loire), Northern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1986 by Pierre Gaillard (co-founder of Les Vins de Vienne). Around 25 hectares on steep granitic hillsides. Grapes: Syrah, Viognier, Roussanne. Appellations: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph. Also producing in Faugères (Languedoc).

FAUGERES ROUGE

In the coeur of the Languedoc, halfway between Béziers and the Montagne Noire, the Faugères AOC owes its identity to a soil that is rare on French ground: layered schist. In red, the appellation blends syrah, grenache, mourvèdre, carignan and cinsault on hillsides swept by sea breezes, delivering minerally, mouthwatering wines built to age. At Halles de Quercamps, we've selected three complementary signatures — Abbaye Sylva Plana (biodynamic), Domaine Cottebrune (Pierre Gaillard) and La Tour Penedesses on its volcanic slopes — to give a sharp, no-frills reading of the appellation. A Languedoc apart, ready to be discovered
