A distinctive expression of Touraine's terroir

  • This wine captures the character of its limestone and clay soils with remarkable clarity. The 2021 vintage reveals the distinctive mineral and fruit-driven personality that defines this small domaine's approach to organic viticulture in the Loire Valley.
  • The wine's structure and moderate alcohol make it particularly suited to braised meats and autumnal dishes. Serve it slightly cool with beef daube, coq au vin, or game terrines for genuine satisfaction.
  • An unpretentious wine designed for everyday pleasure rather than critical acclaim. It rewards a simple corkscrew and honest company, offering genuine drinking satisfaction without ceremony.

Breeding
Maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vat. Slow and delicate extraction. Élevage entirely in 225L and 400L barrels without racking. Light filtration through earth before bottling.
On the eye
Bright garnet with translucent edges, showing the freshness of the vintage
On the nose
Ripe red fruits dominate—cherry and plum—with subtle herbaceous notes and a whisper of mineral earthiness characteristic of the terroir. The aromatics are open and inviting without excessive concentration.
In the mouth
The palate combines generous fruit with a dry, mineral finish. There is a pleasant roundness balanced by acidity, with flavours of red berries and a subtle spice that lingers without heaviness. The texture is refined rather than powerful.
M. Francois
This is a wine of quiet authenticity. The 2021 vintage performs admirably with winter fare—pot-au-feu, cassoulet, and roasted root vegetables all find a natural partner here. The organic farming practices are evident in the wine's freshness and balance. Drink now through 2027 at cellar temperature or lightly chilled.

LA GRANGE TIPHAINE

Settled on the slopes of Amboise in Indre-et-Loire, La Grange Tiphaine farms 16 hectares of silex, clay and tuffeau soils at the heart of the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation. Founded in the late nineteenth century, the estate passed to Damien Delecheneau in 2002 — fifth generation — who achieved organic certification in 2007 and converted fully to biodynamics by 2014. Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Côt and Grolleau yield whites, reds, rosés and sparkling wines of real precision. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for the rigour of its viticulture, the mineral tension of its tuffeau terroir, and the quiet determination of Coralie and Damien Delecheneau. A reference for honest Chenin Blanc.
