The distinctive voice of Touraine terroir

  • A wine of genuine character, shaped by the distinctive soils of Touraine. This organic Cabernet Franc and Côt blend expresses the essence of its limestone-rich terroir with clarity and individuality.
  • Particularly suited to braised meats and slow-cooked dishes. The wine's structure and fruit-forward character complement rich, savoury preparations with genuine pleasure.
  • The marriage of Cabernet Franc and Côt creates a wine of considerable depth. Cabernet Franc brings elegance and floral notes; Côt contributes darker fruit and textural weight. Together, they offer a compelling aromatic palette.

Breeding
Maceration and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete vat. Slow and delicate extraction. Élevage conducted entirely in 225L and 400L barrels without racking. Light filtration through earth before bottling.
On the eye
Bright, clear ruby with good intensity
On the nose
Ripe red and dark berries with subtle herbaceous notes characteristic of Cabernet Franc. The aromatics are open and expressive, revealing layers of fruit without heaviness.
In the mouth
Generous and well-structured. The palate shows good balance between fruit, acidity and tannin. A wine that is approachable now, yet possesses sufficient substance to develop gracefully over several years.
M. Francois
Loire enthusiasts will recognise the hallmarks of a well-made Touraine blend. The Cabernet Franc and Côt combination yields a wine of real depth and aromatic interest. Drink with pleasure from now onwards, though it will reward patience. A thoughtful choice for those seeking character over fashion.

LA GRANGE TIPHAINE

Settled on the slopes of Amboise in Indre-et-Loire, La Grange Tiphaine farms 16 hectares of silex, clay and tuffeau soils at the heart of the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation. Founded in the late nineteenth century, the estate passed to Damien Delecheneau in 2002 — fifth generation — who achieved organic certification in 2007 and converted fully to biodynamics by 2014. Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Côt and Grolleau yield whites, reds, rosés and sparkling wines of real precision. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for the rigour of its viticulture, the mineral tension of its tuffeau terroir, and the quiet determination of Coralie and Damien Delecheneau. A reference for honest Chenin Blanc.
