A mineral expression of Loire elegance

  • The finesse and delicate structure of this wine makes it an excellent companion to lighter poultry dishes and white meats, where its mineral character will complement rather than overpower.
  • Equally at home with a cheese board or charcuterie selection, where its natural sweetness and acidity provide welcome balance against both soft and aged cheeses.
  • The vineyard's vines average 80 years in age, contributing depth and complexity to this organic Chenin Blanc, with the maturity of the plants reflected in the wine's mineral precision.

Product features : Domaine la Grange Tiphaine - "Clef de Sol" Montlouis-Sur-Loire 2022 — Organic

Breeding
Long alcoholic fermentation in barrels with ageing on lees without racking until bottling.
On the eye
Pale gold with subtle green reflections, suggesting freshness and youth despite the age of the vines.
On the nose
Delicate florality mingles with orchard fruit—pear and quince predominate—with an underlying mineral note that speaks to the Loire terroir and the wine's organic provenance.
In the mouth
Fine and mineral on the palate, with the characteristic acidity of Chenin Blanc providing structure. The moelleux character brings subtle sweetness without heaviness, finishing with elegant restraint.
M. Francois
Clef de Sol represents the best of traditional Montlouis winemaking: a wine of genuine terroir expression rather than extraction. The organic farming practices have allowed the mineral character of the soil to shine through. This is a wine for those who appreciate subtlety and authenticity over obvious fruit-forward appeal.

LA GRANGE TIPHAINE

Settled on the slopes of Amboise in Indre-et-Loire, La Grange Tiphaine farms 16 hectares of silex, clay and tuffeau soils at the heart of the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation. Founded in the late nineteenth century, the estate passed to Damien Delecheneau in 2002 — fifth generation — who achieved organic certification in 2007 and converted fully to biodynamics by 2014. Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Côt and Grolleau yield whites, reds, rosés and sparkling wines of real precision. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for the rigour of its viticulture, the mineral tension of its tuffeau terroir, and the quiet determination of Coralie and Damien Delecheneau. A reference for honest Chenin Blanc.
