Breeding
16 to 18 months in French oak barrels (approximately 60% new wood).
On the eye
Deep garnet robe with ruby highlights, displaying excellent clarity and luminosity
On the nose
A refined bouquet opening with red fruits—raspberry and redcurrant—alongside fresh cassis. The terroir emerges through violet, liquorice and a whisper of cedarwood, creating a complex and inviting aromatic profile.
In the mouth
Dense and well-structured, with fine-grained tannins and judicious oak influence. The wine possesses good weight and definition, with a persistent finish that speaks to its breeding and potential for development.
M. Francois
Cantenac Brown 2022 pairs admirably with a carefully composed cheese board, particularly selections from the Bordeaux region and beyond. The wine's structure and subtle fruit character complement aged Comté, creamy Époisses, and firm goat cheeses with equal grace. A natural choice for the discerning table.

CHATEAU CANTENAC BROWN

A Third Grand Cru Classé of the Margaux appellation, Château Cantenac Brown extends across 60 hectares of deep gravel soils on the Cantenac plateau in the Gironde. Founded in 1806 by the Scotsman John Lewis Brown — who commissioned a striking neo-Tudor château quite unlike anything else in the Médoc — the estate was acquired in December 2019 by the Le Lous family (Urgo group) for approximately €150 million, bringing fresh ambition and a new rammed-earth winery inaugurated in 2023. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the precision of its blend — Cabernet Sauvignon-led, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot — and for the long-term vision being applied to one of Bordeaux's most celebrated terroirs. A Médoc classic, renewed with purpose.
