Breeding
Aged in new oak barrels for 12 months.
On the eye
Deep purple-violet in colour, almost opaque to the rim, with considerable depth and intensity.
On the nose
Pure aromas of blackcurrant cream, dark cherry and ripe plum. The bouquet is clean and well-defined, without excessive oak influence.
In the mouth
A substantial wine with excellent backbone and structure. The tannins are abundant yet refined in grain, polished rather than aggressive, providing the framework for long-term development.
This wine will show its best alongside duck ballottine, roasted veal loin, or a fine cheese course. The structure and elegance make it a natural partner to classic French cuisine. Drink from 2026 onwards.

CHATEAU DUCRU BEAUCAILLOU
Set on the gently elevated slopes of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle facing the Gironde estuary, Château Ducru Beaucaillou commands 75 hectares of Günzian gravel at the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation. Acquired in 1795 by Bertrand Ducru and classified as a 2nd Grand Cru in 1855, the château has been in the Borie family since 1941; Bruno-Eugène Borie has led the estate since 2003, steering it through a committed organic conversion begun with the 2018 vintage. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the consistency of its vintages, the precision of its Cabernet Sauvignon on gravel soils, and a genuine environmental commitment that sits alongside one of Bordeaux's most enduring references. A great Médoc classic, true to its character.
SAINT-JULIEN
Le Château Ducru Beaucaillou signe avec La Croix son second vin, expression fidèle du terroir de Saint-Julien. Pourpre intense, ce 2022 développe des arômes purs de cassis et de fruits noirs mûrs. En bouche, la structure est massive mais harmonieuse, portée par des tannins d\'une grande finesse. Un vin de garde élégant et raffiné, idéal à table avec un carré de veau ou un plateau de fromage.
