In the mouth
A fine-grained tannin structure provides elegance and definition. The finish is clean and persistent, with good acidity supporting the dark fruit character throughout.
On the nose
Blackcurrant, blueberry and plum dominate the bouquet, with subtle secondary notes emerging as the wine opens in the glass.
On the eye
Deep ruby red with good intensity
Breeding
40% new oak barrels, 25% one-year-old barrels and 35% two-year-old barrels
This is a wine of genuine character suited to beef dishes cooked over charcoal or wood—the tannins and structure stand up well to the char and smoke. It would also pair excellently with roasted game or mature hard cheeses. Decant thirty minutes before serving.
