- This 2016 displays the hallmark structure and longevity of fine Listrac-Médoc. The wine possesses a solid framework that will develop gracefully over the coming decade, rewarding patience with increasing complexity and integration.
- The Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone: a firm, well-defined tannin structure that speaks of serious winemaking and the gravelly terroir of the appellation. These tannins are ripe and well-managed, never aggressive.
- Merlot softens the whole with appealing roundness and red fruit character. The interplay between the two varieties creates balance and approachability, whilst maintaining the wine's inherent grip and length.

In the mouth

Deep garnet, with the intensity characteristic of well-ripened Cabernet Sauvignon

A wine of genuine Médoc character, built for the table rather than the collector's shelf—though it will certainly reward keeping. Consider it alongside game dishes of substance: a lièvre à la royale would be a natural pairing, as would duck confit or a well-hung venison steak. Drink from 2023 onwards, and it should hold comfortably through the early 2030s.
