The second wine of Château Latour

  • A wine of genuine substance: structured tannins and dark fruit character make this an excellent match for beef dishes, particularly those with pepper or rich sauces.
  • Château Latour stands amongst the oldest and most respected properties in the Médoc, with a winemaking heritage spanning centuries. This second wine reflects that tradition.
  • The estate has held organic certification since 2018, reflecting a long-standing commitment to sustainable viticulture and respect for the terroir.

On the eye
Brilliant deep garnet, with good colour intensity characteristic of the vintage.
On the nose
Ripe dark fruits—blackcurrant and plum—with subtle floral notes and a hint of graphite minerality. The bouquet develops with aeration.
In the mouth
Fresh and persistent on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and a clean, lingering finish. Good structure suggests this will develop gracefully over the next decade.

Les Forts De Latour represents genuine value for those seeking the house style of Latour without the investment of the grand vin. This is a wine that reflects the château's rigorous selection and winemaking discipline. The 2017 vintage shows the freshness and balance we expect from this second wine, with enough substance to reward cellaring. A fine introduction to Pauillac's classical approach.

CHATEAU LATOUR

Set on the gravelly slopes above the Gironde estuary in Pauillac, Château Latour stands among the five Premiers Grands Crus Classés of the 1855 Classification, its 47-hectare Enclos farmed biodynamically on exceptional argillaceous gravels. Founded in 1331 and acquired by François Pinault in 1993, the château became in 2015 the first Premier Grand Cru Classé to achieve full organic certification. The Cabernet Sauvignon-led blends deliver the depth and ageing potential that have made Pauillac a benchmark for red Bordeaux worldwide. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for the rare coherence between its centuries-long history, the rigour of its biodynamic viticulture, and the singular character of its terroir. A cornerstone of any serious Bordeaux cellar.
