In the mouth
The palate is dense yet supple, with well-ripened tannins providing structure without harshness. Ripe red and dark fruits carry through to a long, elegant finish. The wine balances power with refinement, offering both immediate appeal and ageing potential.
On the nose
The bouquet reveals dark berry fruits—blackcurrant and plum—with subtle oak undertones that enhance rather than dominate. The aromatic profile is classic Médoc: restrained, complex and inviting.
On the eye
Deep ruby red with excellent clarity and intensity.
Breeding
Vinification in wooden vat with 12 months' élevage in French oak barrels.
M. Francois
This wine pairs admirably with game terrines, wild mushroom dishes, and beef preparations. It would equally complement aged cheeses such as Avesnes or Nantais. The wine's structure and fruit suggest drinking now, though it will develop further complexity over the next five to seven years.

CHATEAU LA TOUR DE BY

Set on 94 hectares of gravelly soils at Bégadan in the northern Médoc, Château la Tour de By produces red, white and rosé wines under the Bordeaux appellation, across two well-exposed gravel ridges facing the Gironde. Founded in 1599 and acquired in 1965 by Marc Pagès, the château is today run by his grandsons Frédéric Le Clerc and Benjamin Richer de Forges. The blend is led by Cabernet-Sauvignon at 60%, supported by Merlot and Petit Verdot, delivering the structure and definition that Médoc gravel terroir does so well. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for the reliability of its vintages, its clear terroir expression, and its HVE certification. A dependable reference for lovers of structured Médoc.
