  • This 2022 Saint-Émilion displays admirable balance: roundness and precision in equal measure, with an underlying elegance and freshness that distinguishes the vintage. The wine combines structure with approachability, offering both immediate pleasure and considerable cellaring potential.
  • A wine of genuine ageing potential. The 2022 vintage demonstrates the hallmarks of a serious vin de garde, with the concentration and tannin structure to develop complexity over the coming decade. Patient cellaring will reward with deepening layers of flavour.

In the mouth
The attack is clean and direct. Silky, well-integrated tannins provide structure without harshness. The palate evolves through notes of ripe red fruits—cassis, raspberry, blueberry—towards a long, elegant finish with fine persistence.
On the nose
An expressive bouquet of ripe dark fruits and subtle spice. The aromatics speak of mature cassis and plum, with a whisper of garrigue beneath.
On the eye
Deep garnet robe with fine intensity
M. Francois
Château de Ferrand is undergoing conversion to organic viticulture, reflecting a commitment to sustainable practice and terroir expression. This 2022 vintage captures the estate's evolution: a wine of genuine character that rewards both near-term enjoyment and patient cellaring. The balance between fruit, structure and freshness suggests a wine that will develop considerably over the next eight to twelve years.

CHÂTEAU DE FERRAND

Established on the argilo-calcareous plateau of Saint-Hippolyte within the Saint-Émilion appellation, Château de Ferrand covers 32 hectares farmed under certified organic, HVE, and Terra Vitis disciplines. Founded in 1702 and held by only two families across three centuries, it passed to the heirs of Baron Bich in 1977; under Pauline Bich Chandon-Moët, it earned Grand Cru Classé status in 2012. The blend — 70% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc — draws on red clays over astéries limestone. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for its rigorous organic conversion, coherent plateau terroir, and clear qualitative ambition since 2005. A Saint-Émilion of genuine character, rooted in history and focused on precision.
