In the mouth
A wine of considerable presence. The tannins are ripe and generous, providing a firm backbone without harshness. The palate is broad and generous, with good length and a dry, mineral finish that speaks to the clay-limestone soils.
On the nose
Layered aromatics reveal smoked meat and dark stone fruits—blackberry and plum—interwoven with white pepper and subtle spice. The bouquet develops with air, showing the complexity of a well-made Merlot-based blend.
On the eye
Deep, luminous garnet with an intense, sustained colour that speaks to the wine's structure and maturity potential.
Breeding
Aged for 18 months in new oak barrels.
This is a wine for the table. Pair it with roasted red meats, beef braised in wine, or game birds. The structure will complement charcuterie and rich sauces. CLOS DES JACOBINS
Set across 11 hectares on the plateau and slopes of Saint-Émilion, Clos des Jacobins rests on a mosaic of limestone, clay-limestone and iron-rich sandy soils. In the family since 1902, the estate is today steered by Xavier Jean — fifth generation — alongside the Joinaud-Borde family, having taken the helm in 2010. Certified organic since the 2020 vintage, it produces exclusively red wines from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for the rigour of its organic conversion, the genuine geological diversity of its terroirs, and the quiet conviction of a family project built for the long term. A serious reference for lovers of authentic Saint-Émilion.
