A wine of distinctive character, rooted in its terroir

  • This 2022 vintage demonstrates the classic expression of Pessac-Léognan's gravelly plateau. Chateau Bouscaut remains faithful to its terroir, balancing the ripeness of the vintage with the mineral precision that defines this historic appellation.
  • The wine displays an appealing generosity of dark fruit—cassis and redcurrant—with subtle spice notes that lend complexity without overwhelming the palate. This is a wine of genuine pleasure, neither austere nor excessive.
  • As a Grand Cru Classé of Graves, this wine possesses the structure and depth required for patient cellaring. The 2022 vintage offers both immediate appeal and the potential to develop further complexity over the coming decade.

On the nose
Cassis and redcurrant lead, followed by gentle spice notes—white pepper and dried herbs—with an underlying mineral character typical of the gravelly terroir
On the eye
Deep garnet, with an intensity that speaks to ripe fruit and good extraction
Breeding
Aged in barrels for 14 to 18 months, approximately half in new oak
M. Francois
Chateau Bouscaut 2022 demonstrates the hallmarks of fine Pessac-Léognan: roundness, fruit-forward character, and genuine substance. The wine possesses both immediate appeal and the structure to reward patience. A classical expression of its appellation, neither fashionable nor derivative—simply a well-made Grand Cru Classé of character and integrity.
