The character of Médoc in every glass

  • Château Poujeaux 2022 is a red wine from the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, long recognised for producing wines of considerable structure and refinement. This vintage demonstrates the hallmarks of the terroir: balance, depth, and the distinctive mineral quality that defines the finest Médoc crus.
  • Château Poujeaux is a historic property whose winemaking philosophy centres on respecting both vineyard and vintage. The estate employs thoughtful viticultural practices that allow the unique character of the terroir to express itself fully in the finished wine.
  • The blend demonstrates a confident hand in the cellar, combining the principal Bordeaux varieties to achieve a wine of substance and complexity, rather than pursuing obvious appeal.

In the mouth
The palate is mineral-driven with a clean, refined structure. Flavours of cassis and dark plum are complemented by peppery spice that adds depth and persistence. The wine shows good acidity and a dry, measured finish characteristic of serious Moulis.
On the nose
Aromas of dark berries—blackcurrant, bilberry and blackberry—with subtle spice notes. The bouquet is restrained and layered, revealing secondary mineral and herbal nuances as the wine opens. Fine-grained tannins contribute to the overall elegance.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with good intensity and clarity
Breeding
Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
M. Francois
This wine pairs naturally with roasted lamb, coq au vin, and mushroom risotto. It will also complement aged mountain cheeses of character. Drink now through the next decade, or cellar for further development. Serve at 16–17°C to appreciate its structure and subtlety.
