WINE | RED WINE | BORDEAUX | SAINT-EMILION GRAND CRU CLASSE
Bottle of : 0.75L

A refined marriage of Merlot and Cabernet Franc

  • This is a wine of genuine suppleness and fruit-forward charm. The 2022 vintage delivers immediate pleasure without sacrificing the structure that rewards patience in the cellar.
  • Château Chauvin achieves that essential equilibrium between the distinctive terroir of Saint-Émilion's right bank and the winemaking discipline that brings it into focus. The result is a wine of quiet confidence.
  • Whilst approachable now, this wine will develop considerably over five to ten years in a cool cellar. Those who lay down a few bottles will be rewarded with deeper complexity and a more layered drinking experience.

Finely textured and well-defined on the palate. The wine shows pleasing softness without flabbiness, with good mid-palate weight and a clean, persistent finish that speaks to the quality of the fruit.
On the nose
Discreet fruit character with notes of dark berries and subtle oak influence. The aromatics develop gradually, revealing hints of plum and graphite with aeration.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby garnet with good depth of colour
Breeding
Élevage in barrels: 16 months; 50% new oak, 50% one-year-old barrels
M. Francois
A food-friendly wine of genuine versatility. Pair with charcuterie, white meats, red meats, and game birds—it possesses the structure and fruit balance to complement all of these with ease. Equally at home at table or in the cellar.
