Set on a south-facing argilo-calcaire plateau above the Dordogne at Saint-Philippe-d'Aiguilhe, Château Ampelia covers 5 hectares in the Bordeaux appellation. Founded in 1999 by François Despagne — seventh generation at Grand Corbin-Despagne in Saint-Émilion — the château began its organic conversion in 2010 and received full Agriculture biologique certification in 2018. Merlot and Cabernet Franc yield a structured red Bordeaux shaped by a winemaker with a deep understanding of his terroir. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for the integrity of its approach: certified organic viticulture carried by a family whose Bordeaux roots span seven generations — not a marketing claim, but a lived reality.
