A benchmark Languedoc estate and a reference point for the region

  • This is a confidential release, with fewer than 5,000 bottles produced annually. The scarcity of Clos du Pic underscores its standing within the Puech-Haut portfolio and its appeal to serious collectors of southern French wine.
  • The blend achieves a considered equilibrium between Mourvèdre and Syrah, two varieties that define the character of Languedoc's finest expressions. This balance yields a wine of substance without excess.
  • Clos du Pic delivers generosity and power in a wine that represents genuine value. The structure and complexity here rival offerings from more celebrated appellations, yet the pricing reflects the Languedoc's inherent advantage.

Product features : Chateau Puech-Haut - Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge Clos du Pic 2019

In the mouth
The palate is ample and rounded, with silky tannins that speak to careful élevage. Red fruit flavours—cherry and crushed strawberry—weave through delicate oak nuances, creating a wine of balance and finesse rather than mere power.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with complexity: dark berries—blackcurrant and damson—mingle with subtle spice and mineral notes. The aromatics are layered rather than immediately showy, rewarding patient examination.
On the eye
Deep garnet with blood-red highlights. A dark, concentrated appearance suggesting the wine's depth and maturity potential.
M. Francois
Clos du Pic pairs beautifully with beef bourguignon, where its structure and fruit-forward character complement the dish's richness without overwhelming it. The wine's silky tannins and dark fruit profile make it equally suited to roasted game, cassoulet, or aged hard cheeses. Drink now through 2032.

CHATEAU PUECH-HAUT

Set on the argilo-calcaire slopes and rolled-pebble soils of Saint-Drézéry, north-east of Montpellier, Château Puech-Haut farms 150 hectares in organic conversion within the Languedoc appellation. Founded in 1980 by Gérard Bru on what was once dense garrigue and olive groves, the estate has steadily established itself as one of the region's most consistent addresses, blending Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre for its reds, and Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier for its whites. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the coherence of its range, the precision of its assemblages, and the fresh momentum brought since 2024 by incoming managing director Arnaud Demongeot. A reliable, characterful choice for those who want the Languedoc at its most complete.
