A harmonious blend of three Mediterranean varieties

  • This wine unites the dark fruit and spice character of Syrah with the generous roundness of Grenache, anchored by the structural grip of Mourvèdre. The result is a wine of genuine balance and depth, reflecting the terroir of la Clape with clarity.
  • Château d'Anglès is in conversion to organic viticulture, reflecting a commitment to sustainable practice in the vineyard. The wine itself is gourmand without excess—a food-friendly expression of the appellation that rewards both attention and simple enjoyment.
  • This is a wine of substance and character that offers genuine value. It speaks to the quality of la Clape's limestone terroir and the skill of the winemaker, without pretension or inflated expectation.

Product features : Château d'Anglès la Clape Rouge Classique 2021 — la Clape

In the mouth
Supple and fruit-forward on the palate, with a refreshing acidity that prevents heaviness. Fine, silky tannins provide structure without dominating. The finish is clean and persistent, with a lingering spice character.
On the nose
Aromas of ripe red and black fruits—cherry and plum—with warm spice notes and a hint of garrigue. The bouquet develops with air, revealing layers of complexity beneath the initial fruit.
On the eye
Deep garnet red with dark reflections
Breeding
Development of aromatic complexity and natural stabilisation through gravity over 18 months in tank
M. Francois
This wine pairs naturally with charcuterie and pâtés, grilled red meats, and meat-based sauces. It is equally at home with hard cheeses such as Comté or aged Cheddar. Serve at 16–17°C. Drink now through 2027.

CHÂTEAU D'ANGLÈS

Set on the maritime slopes of La Clape at Saint-Pierre-la-Mer in the Aude, Château d'Anglès covers 45 hectares of hard limestone scree and rounded galets within the Languedoc appellation, shaped by the Mediterranean. Documented as early as 1226 under the Baillys d'Anglès, the estate was restructured from 2001 by Eric Fabre — formerly technical director at Château Lafite Rothschild — and his wife Christine, bringing Bordeaux precision to a resolutely southern terroir. The result is a range of reds, whites, and rosés of genuine character, all produced under HVE certification. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for its exceptional terroir, rigorous viticulture, and the clarity of its wines. A Languedoc of real substance, rooted in its soil.
