Breeding
Over 5 to 7 years in barrels and demi-muids, untopped, allowing controlled oxidative contact
On the eye
Tawny-brick colour, deepening with age. Clear, luminous appearance.
On the nose
Highly aromatic, with developing notes of dried stone fruits, caramel, and subtle oxidative complexity characteristic of aged Banyuls. Inviting and layered.
In the mouth
Extremely smooth and velvety with good amplitude and density. Well-structured tannins support the palate, leading to a generous, fresh finish that balances the wine's richness with surprising brightness.
I particularly enjoy this wine alongside desserts featuring dried fruits—figs, dates, apricots—or with almond-based confections. The wine's natural sweetness and oxidative character complement these flavours with real elegance. Also excellent simply as a meditation wine in the evening.
