On the eye
Deep tawny-ruby with orange and mahogany reflections at the rim, showing the graceful evolution of age.
On the nose
Noble leather, blonde tobacco, cigar box and black truffle. The aromatics speak of maturity and careful élevage, layered and inviting without excessive oak.
In the mouth
Intense and generous on the palate, with considerable complexity. The structure remains firm yet refined, with a long and intricate finish that rewards contemplation.
Ideally suited to beef daube prepared in the local Montpeyroux style, or game such as venison with braised chestnuts. The wine's acidity and tannin structure will complement rich, savoury dishes with particular grace. A wine for the table rather than for display.
