A distinguished Côte-Rôtie from the Côte Brune's finest terroir

  • The wine's structure and depth make it an excellent companion to roasted game, particularly venison with rich sauces, or lamb dishes where its spice and tannin framework will complement the meat's natural flavours.
  • Matured in new oak, the wine displays an appealing vanilla character that integrates seamlessly with the Syrah's dark fruit and peppery notes, adding complexity without overwhelming the wine's essential character.
  • This is a wine of genuine ageing potential. The fine tannin structure and balanced acidity suggest it will develop further complexity over the next decade, rewarding those who choose to cellar it.

Product features : Domaine Bonnefond Côte-Rôtie les Rochins 2021 — Côte-Rôtie

In the mouth
The palate is elegant and precise, with fine-grained tannins that provide structure without harshness. Dark fruit flavours persist through to a long, peppery finish with a mineral edge that speaks to the vineyard's granite-based terroir.
On the nose
Concentrated aromas of dark berries and black pepper, with hints of liquorice and subtle oak-derived spice. The bouquet opens gradually, revealing layers of garrigue and mineral notes characteristic of the Côte Brune.
On the eye
Deep violet-red, with good intensity and clarity
M. Francois
Domaine Bonnefond's les Rochins represents the essence of Côte-Rôtie from the Côte Brune. This is a wine of restraint and refinement, where the interplay of fruit, spice and mineral character creates genuine complexity. It pairs beautifully with game dishes, particularly venison prepared with traditional sauces, where its structure and spice will enhance rather than overpower.
