One of Côte-Rôtie's most substantial family holdings

  • Owned by Maison Guigal since 2006, Domaine de Bonserine commands some of the most prized vineyard parcels in the Côte-Rôtie appellation. The house's stewardship has refined both viticulture and winemaking across the estate's considerable holdings.
  • This cuvée draws from the appellation's most celebrated lieux-dits: Côte-Blonde, Côte-Brûne, and Les Moutonnes. Each sector contributes distinct mineral and aromatic signatures that define the northern Rhône's complexity.
  • Crafted from the estate's oldest Syrah vines, La Garde expresses the depth and structure that mature plantings deliver. The wine reflects decades of terroir accumulation in every glass.

Product features : Domaine de Bonserine Cote-Rotie la Garde 2017 — Côte-Rôtie

In the mouth
Rich and voluptuous, yet structured. Mocha, spiced plum compote, and cocoa notes build across the palate. The tannins are firm yet supple, providing excellent grip without harshness. A wine of considerable balance and length.
On the nose
Layered and refined. Black cherry and dark plum mingle with white pepper, liquorice, and a distinctive siliceous minerality. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing floral undertones.
On the eye
Deep ruby garnet. Sustained colour with considerable density.
Breeding
In 228-litre barrels for 3 years
M. Francois
A natural companion to game birds—roasted quail or pigeon with forcemeat preparations showcase the wine's aromatic complexity and savoury depth. Also suited to slow-braised beef dishes and aged hard cheeses. Cellaring potential of 15–20 years for those inclined to wait.
