Twelve centuries of family stewardship in the Burgundy vineyard

  • A seductive white wine of considerable refinement and balance. The palate displays both power and elegance, with the mineral character typical of the finest Mercurey expressions.
  • The vineyard holdings span generations: the oldest vines were planted in 1963, whilst recent plantings from 2018 ensure continuity and vitality. This layering of vintages contributes to the wine's complexity.
  • Château de Chamirey commands six parcels classified as premier cru within the Mercurey appellation, reflecting decades of careful site selection and vineyard management.

In the mouth
The wine enters with structure and persistence. Crisp acidity frames white peach and flint notes, whilst a saline finish reinforces the terroir's mineral signature. Refreshing without being austere.
On the nose
The bouquet is notably expressive, combining stone fruit and white flowers with a mineral undertone characteristic of limestone-rich Burgundian soils. Aromas of citrus and hawthorn emerge with aeration.
On the eye
Pale yellow with subtle green glints, suggesting youth and freshness
Breeding
The wine is aged for 10 months, 70% in stainless steel vats and 30% in 400-litre oak barrels, then 4 months in bulk.
M. Francois
An excellent companion to seafood, particularly line-caught fish such as sea bass or turbot. The wine's acidity and mineral backbone also complement squid and other cephalopods prepared simply. Consider it equally for shellfish dishes and lighter poultry preparations.
