WINE | RED WINE | RHÔNE | COTE-ROTIE
Bottle of : 1.50L

One of Côte-Rôtie's most substantial family estates

  • Owned by Maison Guigal since 2006, Domaine de Bonserine represents a significant holding within the appellation. The house's stewardship has maintained the estate's commitment to traditional viticulture and careful selection of fruit from its finest parcels.
  • The fruit for La Garde is drawn from the appellation's most celebrated lieux-dits: Côte-Blonde, Côte-Brûne and Les Moutonnes. Each site contributes distinct mineral and aromatic characteristics to the final blend, reflecting the complexity of northern Rhône terroir.
  • This wine is produced from the estate's oldest Syrah vines, which impart depth and concentration. The maturity of these plantings contributes to the wine's structural integrity and the refinement of its aromatic expression.

Product features : Domaine de Bonserine Cote-Rotie la Garde 2019 — Côte-Rôtie

In the mouth
Rich and voluptuous on the palate, with mocha, preserved fruit and cocoa notes. The wine displays a firm, well-integrated tannin structure, delivering both power and elegance. The finish is sustained and refined.
On the nose
Powerful and layered aromatics where precise dark fruit character mingles with spiced, peppery and mineral notes. The bouquet develops complexity, revealing hints of garrigue and graphite beneath the primary fruit expression.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with sustained colour. The appearance suggests considerable concentration and ageing potential.
Breeding
In 228-litre barrels for 3 years
M. Francois
La Garde pairs beautifully with game birds—roasted quail or pigeon with forcemeat preparations particularly suit its structure and aromatic profile. The wine's weight and spiced character also complement herb-based sauces and darker meat preparations. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the aromatics to fully develop.
