Château Chauvin Grand Cru Classé 2021 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru - 2021

WINE | RED WINE | BORDEAUX | SAINT-EMILION GRAND CRU CLASSE
Bottle of : 0.75L

A refined marriage of Merlot and Cabernet Franc

  • This is a wine of considerable charm: supple and fruit-forward, with an approachable character that delivers genuine pleasure from the outset, yet possesses the structure to develop further in bottle.
  • The wine exemplifies the balance between the distinctive terroir of Saint-Emilion's clay and limestone soils and the measured craftsmanship of the cellar. Each element works in concert rather than competing for attention.
  • Whilst approachable now, this vintage rewards patience. Cellaring for several years will allow the wine to develop greater complexity and refinement, culminating in a memorable tasting experience.

In the mouth
Finely textured and well-balanced, with a pleasant softness that never becomes flabby. Good definition on the palate, fine tannins, and a lingering finish that demonstrates the wine's breeding and structure.
On the nose
Discreet but well-defined fruit character, with subtle floral notes and a mineral undertone that speaks to the terroir. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing layers of dark cherry and plum.
On the eye
Brilliant garnet with good depth of colour
Breeding
Ageing in barrels: 16 months; 50% new oak, 50% one-year-old oak
M. Francois
A versatile companion at table. The wine's elegance and moderate weight make it equally at home with charcuterie, poultry, and lighter red meats. It handles game birds and venison with aplomb, and will not overwhelm delicate preparations. This is a wine of sufficient character to enhance a meal without dominating it.
