A wine of genuine distinction and considerable cellaring promise
Produced from exceptionally old vines on the celebrated Hermitage hillside, this wine captures the essence of one of the Rhône Valley's most prestigious terroirs. The maturity of the vineyard imparts depth and complexity to the final wine.
This is a wine built for the long term. Its fine-grained tannin structure and elegant profile suggest a rewarding evolution over the coming decades, developing further nuance and refinement in bottle.
The aromatic complexity here is considerable: ripe dark fruits interwoven with floral notes, subtle citrus inflections, and a whisper of cocoa. This is serious Rhône winemaking, displaying the region's characteristic balance between power and finesse.

Product features : Domaine Paul Jaboulet - Hermitage Rouge la Chapelle 2006
In the mouth
The palate reveals fine, silky tannins that provide structure without heaviness. The wine flows with elegance, building gradually to a long, persistent finish that echoes the aromatic themes with admirable clarity and poise.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with dark cherry and plum, complemented by violet and rose petal notes. Beneath lies a subtle mineral quality, with hints of citrus zest and dark chocolate adding further intrigue and development.
On the eye
Deep garnet robe with an attractive luminosity characteristic of fine Hermitage.
This wine pairs exceptionally well with substantial beef dishes and game preparations, where its tannin structure and complexity find natural harmony. It also merits consideration alongside dark chocolate-based desserts, where the wine's cocoa notes create an engaging dialogue. Decanting an hour before service is recommended to allow full expression.
Nicolas françois, propriétaire passionné des halles de quercamps
Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné is a wine estate and merchant founded in 1834 in Tain-l'Hermitage (Drôme). Acquired by the Frey family (Château La Lagune) in 2006. Appellations: Hermitage (La Chapelle, flagship cuvée), Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côte-Rôtie. Grapes: Syrah, Grenache, Marsanne, Roussanne. One of the Rhône's historic names.
