CHATEAU VILLEMAURINE
Situated on the eastern flank of Saint-Émilion, Château Villemaurine covers 7 hectares of argilo-calcaire and astéries limestone soils at the heart of one of Bordeaux's most distinguished appellations. Its name traces back to the eighth century — a legacy of the 'Ville Maure' — and the château was modernised from 2007 before passing in 2021 to the Lefévère family, who also own Château Sansonnet. Merlot and Cabernet Franc draw full expression from the mineral limestone bedrock, producing structured, precise reds of genuine Saint-Émilion character. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for its terroir coherence, the rigour the Lefévère family have brought since 2021, and the typicity of its red wines — a property balancing deep historical roots with contemporary ambition.
