The refined expression of Margaux

  • A harmonious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon's structure, Merlot's roundness, and Petit Verdot's subtle complexity. This is Margaux without ostentation—a wine of genuine finesse and depth.
  • Siran possesses a distinct character: fine-grained tannins married to layered aromatics. It rewards contemplation rather than demands attention, embodying the restraint that defines great Bordeaux.
  • The 2021 vintage continues Château Siran's tradition of producing wines of genuine complexity and harmony. A memorable glass that speaks to the enduring appeal of Left Bank Bordeaux.

Breeding
12 to 15 months in French oak barrels, with approximately 35% new wood, to preserve the delicacy of the fruit
On the eye
Deep ruby red with purple highlights. An elegant, intense colour that suggests maturity without heaviness.
On the nose
Inviting bouquet of blackcurrant and dark cherry, layered with subtle notes of blonde tobacco and cedarwood. The aromatics unfold gradually, revealing further complexity with aeration.
In the mouth
Voluptuous yet well-defined palate. Ripe dark fruits and vanilla are supported by silky, refined tannins. The structure is evident but never aggressive, with a lingering finish of considerable elegance.
M. Francois
Château Siran is often called the 'Margaux for discerning collectors'—a wine that eschews raw power in favour of complexity and balance. This is Bordeaux elegance distilled: restrained, harmonious, and profoundly satisfying. A benchmark expression of the appellation's true character.

CHATEAU SIRAN

Situated at Labarde on the southern edge of the Margaux appellation, Château Siran covers 25 hectares of siliceous and sandy gravel soils, currently in organic conversion. In the Miailhe family since 1859 and now in its fifth generation under Édouard Miailhe, the château traces its origins to 1428 and was once linked to the ancestors of the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc are grown exclusively to produce red Margaux. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its viticulture, the depth of its family history and the consistency it achieves on some of the most characteristic gravel terroirs in the Médoc. A Margaux of real character, firmly rooted in its land.
