A classified growth of distinction and terroir expression

  • Dauzac embodies the essence of Margaux's exceptional terroir. The 2021 vintage demonstrates the château's commitment to producing wines of genuine complexity and refinement, where the gravelly plateau imparts structure and elegance in equal measure.
  • The marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon's architectural precision with Merlot's silken texture creates a wine of considerable depth. Mineral undertones and ripe dark fruit character define this vintage, revealing the balance that distinguishes a classified growth.
  • This is a wine of patience and contemplation. The 2021 will reward those who allow it time to develop in the cellar, unfolding layers of complexity as it matures. A wine for the long term.

In the mouth
Highly concentrated and fully ripe, with round, generous tannins that provide structure without harshness. The palate shows excellent depth and a persistent finish that speaks to the wine's breeding.
On the nose
Grilled bread crust and mocha notes emerge first, followed by earthy undertones of forest floor and mushroom. Cooked prune and subtle spice complete the aromatic profile.
On the eye
Deep ruby with brick-tinged edges, suggesting maturity and concentration
M. Francois
A wine of genuine substance that pairs beautifully with game. Consider it alongside venison with a rich sauce, or roasted duck. The wine's structure and mineral backbone make it equally suited to beef dishes with earthy accompaniments. Drink from 2026 onwards, though it will continue evolving for two decades.

CHATEAU DAUZAC

Château Dauzac is a 5th Grand Cru Classé of Margaux, established at Labarde in the Gironde across 49 hectares of gravel soils farmed organically and biodynamically. Founded in 1545, it holds a remarkable place in viticultural history: Bordeaux mixture was first developed here in 1884, and in 2016 it became the first classified growth to achieve vegan certification. Under the Roulleau family since 2020, yields are kept deliberately low at 25 to 30 hl/ha, allowing the terroir to express itself with clarity. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for the consistency of its environmental commitment and the focused, terroir-driven character of its red wines.
