Fifth Growth Pauillac with mineral precision and vibrant fruit

  • Situated amongst the finest Left Bank estates, Haut-Bages Liberal neighbours Pichon Baron and Latour, sharing the distinctive terroir that defines Pauillac's character and structure.
  • Certified organic since 2019, the vineyard reflects a commitment to sustainable viticulture that enhances the natural expression of its Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend.
  • This vintage exemplifies the house style: fresh cassis and wild berries balanced against a pronounced mineral signature, delivering both power and elegance in a single, cohesive expression.

Product features : Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal - 5eme Cru Classé 2021 — Pauillac

Breeding
16 to 18 months: 40% new oak barrels, 40% one-year-old barrels, and 20% in terracotta and stoneware amphorae
On the eye
Deep ink-dark robe with purple reflections
On the nose
Pristine bouquet of fresh cassis, wild blackberry and blueberry, underpinned by a strong mineral signature of graphite and chalk that defines the vintage's character.
In the mouth
Sculpted and energetic on the palate. Dense, fine-grained tannins with an almost chalky texture support vibrant dark berry fruit. The finish is saline and persistent, lingering on notes of black fruit and liquorice.
M. Francois
A distinguished Pauillac that marries the appellation's historical power with remarkable fruit purity and mineral tension. The wine's structure and freshness make it an excellent companion to game birds and spiced dishes, developing further complexity over the coming decade.
