In the mouth
The palate presents a taut, well-defined structure with ample tannins that are neither aggressive nor drying. The finish is notably long and fresh, with lingering notes of dark fruit and a mineral quality that speaks to the terroir.
On the nose
The bouquet opens with notes of blackcurrant and plum, followed by subtle hints of exotic wood and a whisper of toast. Chocolate undertones emerge with air, adding further complexity and refinement.
On the eye
Deep garnet robe with violet undertones, suggesting maturity and depth.
Breeding
Aged 18 to 24 months in barrels renewed at 60%.
M. Francois
This wine accompanies roasted lamb exceptionally well, particularly a selle d'agneau with its natural juices. It is equally at home with a traditional roast beef or duck prepared à l'orange. The wine's acidity and tannin structure provide the necessary balance to cut through richness whilst enhancing savoury flavours.
