A singular terroir overlooking the Layon valley

  • Domaine Patrick Baudouin has been certified organic since 2001, practising sustainable viticulture across its vineyard holdings in the Anjou region.
  • This is a serious Loire red with considerable complexity. Cabernet Franc of this calibre and typicity from these slopes remains relatively uncommon in the appellation.
  • The 2017 vintage demonstrates the domaine's commitment to expressing terroir through minimal intervention winemaking and careful élevage in wood.

Product features : Domaine Patrick Baudouin Anjou Rouge Coteaux d'Ardenay 2017

In the mouth
Fresh, elegant palate with fine-grained tannins and good length. A wine of restraint and balance, displaying the ligérienne character typical of quality Anjou reds.
On the nose
Complex, layered aromatics: dark plum, graphite, and subtle herbaceous notes characteristic of mature Cabernet Franc, with mineral undertones from the schist soils.
On the eye
Bright ruby red with good depth of colour
Breeding
Ageing in Burgundy and Bordeaux oak barrels on fine lees for 10 months, then in stainless steel vat for 4 months
M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with charcuterie and pâtés, but truly shines alongside roasted veal or poultry with wild mushrooms. The freshness and structure make it equally suited to lighter game preparations. A versatile food wine that rewards proper cellaring.
