Organic viticulture practised since 2020 across our finest parcels

  • From the lieu-dit Les Eguets on the Chavanay plateau, this wine emerges from just half a hectare of meticulously tended vineyard. The site's distinctive terroir imparts a mineral backbone and aromatic intensity characteristic of the finest Condrieu expressions.
  • The wine reveals a compelling interplay between ripe stone fruit and subtle smoke—a signature of the appellation's schist-rich soils. A gentle bitter edge in the finish adds complexity and encourages contemplation rather than mere consumption.
  • This is a wine of sufficient structure to reward patience. Lay down a bottle or two for three to five years; the aromatic profile will deepen and integrate, revealing further dimensions of terroir and vintage character.

Product features : Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin Condrieu les Eguets 2020

In the mouth
Aromatic power is held in admirable restraint, allowing individual flavours to emerge with clarity. A fine mineral tension runs through the palate, culminating in a subtle bitter finish that lingers with elegance and purpose.
On the nose
White stone fruits—pear and white peach—mingle with pronounced smoky and mineral notes. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing hints of hazelnut and dried herbs beneath.
On the eye
Brilliant pale gold with greenish reflections
Breeding
1 year: 20% new demi-muids, 80% demi-muids of 1 to 3 wines
M. Francois
Serve this wine with a plateau of oysters, langoustines, or other shellfish to experience its natural affinity with the sea. It pairs equally well with delicate fish preparations in cream or butter sauces, where its smoky character and mineral grip provide welcome counterpoint to richness.
