The elegance of fine Bordeaux, genuinely approachable

  • Situated on Bordeaux's right bank within the Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation, Château Petit Bois benefits from clay-limestone soils that impart structure and depth. This terroir allows Merlot, the dominant variety, to express its characteristic roundness and richness with considerable finesse.
  • Merlot forms the core of this assemblage, contributing suppleness and generosity. Cabernet Franc adds spiced and floral notes, whilst Cabernet Sauvignon provides structural backbone and fine-grained tannins. The result is a well-balanced wine, approachable in its youth yet possessing genuine ageing potential.
  • Château Petit Bois offers an accessible entry point to Montagne-Saint-Émilion. Silky tannins and vibrant fruit aromas characterise the wine, making it an excellent introduction to the broader Saint-Émilion region for those seeking balance and clarity.

Product features : Chateau Petit Bois 2020 — Lussac Saint-Émilion

In the mouth
Round and fleshy on the palate, with supple, well-integrated tannins. Red fruit flavours—cherry and raspberry—mingle with darker stone fruits and notes of spice, liquorice and subtle oak. Good freshness throughout provides lift and definition to the finish.
On the nose
Expressive bouquet revealing ripe red fruits, blackcurrant and plum, with subtle undertones of cedarwood, spice and tobacco. The aromatics are layered and inviting without excessive oak influence.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with garnet reflections; bright and limpid appearance
Breeding
Aged in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months, which imparts fine aromatic complexity without masking the fruit
M. Francois
An elegant, well-structured wine suited to classic fare: grilled red meats, sauced dishes and mature cheeses. This Montagne-Saint-Émilion introduces the broader Saint-Émilion terroir with genuine aromatic richness, silky texture and admirable balance between fruit and freshness. Drinking well now, it will reward modest cellaring over several years for those inclined to wait.
