The hallmark of Alain Brumont's winemaking vision

  • A richly textured Madiran of considerable depth and structure. This wine displays the characteristic power and complexity that define the appellation, with layers of dark fruit and savoury spice developing through the palate.
  • A Madiran of singular character, shaped by Brumont's meticulous approach to viticulture and élevage. The wine balances opulence with restraint, offering complexity without heaviness—a true expression of south-west French terroir.
  • The wine seduces through its generous aromatic profile: dark cherry and blackberry mingle with toasted notes, coffee and leather, whilst hints of pepper, violet and vanilla add refinement and intrigue to the finish.

In the mouth
Ample and structured on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and a persistent, satisfying finish. The wine unfolds with grace, revealing layers of fruit and spice that linger pleasingly.
On the nose
Generously perfumed and layered. Complex aromas of red and dark fruits meld with toasted bread, coffee and leather, whilst subtle notes of white pepper, violet and vanilla add nuance and elegance to the bouquet.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with a lustrous intensity characteristic of fine Madiran.
Breeding
Ageing in 100% new oak barrels for 14 to 16 months.
M. Francois
A wine of considerable merit alongside game—duck and venison particularly—lamb and beef. Its structure and depth also make it an intriguing companion to dark chocolate desserts. Drink now or cellar for further development over the coming decade.

VIGNOBLES BRUMONT

Based in Maumusson-Laguian in the Gers, Vignobles Brumont spans 300 hectares across the Madiran appellation, on south-facing slopes of reddish rolled pebbles and deep clays. Since 1979, Alain Brumont has made Tannat his signature, establishing Château Bouscassé and Château Montus as the benchmark addresses of the Sud-Ouest — a standing confirmed by five stars from Bettane+Desseauve in 2023, the only estate in the region to hold that distinction. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its terroirs, the consistency of its élevage, and the remarkable ageing potential of its reds over a decade and beyond. A Sud-Ouest address we back without reservation.
