Power and elegance from the heart of Pommard

  • A distinguished 1er Cru Pommard from Domaine Jacques Prieur, this wine expresses the mineral richness and complexity characteristic of the Les Charmots vineyard, one of Pommard's most respected terroirs.
  • The 2019 vintage delivers concentrated aromatics with a refined tannic structure, balancing power with restraint in the manner of fine Burgundy, and shows considerable potential for graceful evolution.
  • For the serious Burgundy enthusiast, this Pommard offers a complete sensory experience: layered aromatics, savoury depth, and the architectural integrity that distinguishes great wine from merely good wine.

Product features : Domaine Jacques Prieur Pommard 1er Cru les Charmots 2019

Breeding
Élevage entirely in oak barrels for 17 months.
On the eye
Deep ruby red, with the density and lustre characteristic of fine Pommard
On the nose
Complex and layered: spiced dark fruit, liquorice and menthol notes evolving towards clove, roasted coffee and floral hints of peony and rose. Considerable aromatic maturity even in youth.
In the mouth
Savoury and engaging: violet and peppery spice, aniseed notes, with freshness and mineral energy throughout. Fine-grained tannins, well-integrated and elegant. Lengthy, persistent finish.
M. Francois
A wine of substance suited to roasted and grilled red meats, game, and well-aged cheeses. The structure and balance suggest this will develop beautifully over the coming decade, revealing greater complexity and refinement with time. A considered choice for those who value terroir expression and classical Burgundian winemaking.

DOMAINE JACQUES PRIEUR

Established in Meursault at the heart of the Côte-d'Or, Domaine Jacques Prieur farms 21 hectares of limestone and clay-limestone soils under certified organic management. Founded in 1868 by Claude Duvergey, the estate takes its name from Jacques Prieur, co-founder of the Chevaliers du Tastevin in 1956 — a detail that speaks to its place within Burgundian history. Since 1988, the Labruyère family has held a majority stake, securing the estate's independence and long-term direction. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its organic viticulture, the precision of its élevage, and the consistency of its range across both red and white Meursault. A Burgundian benchmark we are genuinely proud to list.
