In the mouth
The palate opens with a soft attack and maintains a precise mineral acidity throughout. Fresh, elegant tannins provide structure without heaviness. The Sauvignon-based blend expresses the cool limestone terroir of Pessac-Léognan with clarity and poise.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with delicate citrus notes—lemon zest and grapefruit—complemented by subtle herbaceous undertones and a whisper of white flowers. The aromatics are restrained and refined, inviting rather than assertive.
On the eye
Pale gold with greenish glints; clear and luminous
Breeding
Ageing on fine lees with regular stirring for 16 months.
M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with scallops, Dover sole, and other refined seafood preparations. It also complements foie gras with its balancing acidity. Serve well-chilled at 10-12°C to appreciate its delicate aromatics. Drink now through 2028 for optimal enjoyment.

CHATEAU PAPE CLEMENT

Set in Pessac, Gironde, Château Pape Clément covers 63 hectares at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, on gravelly-sandy and clay-limestone soils typical of the Left Bank. Founded in 1252, the château takes its name from Bertrand de Goth, Archbishop of Bordeaux, who became Pope Clement V in 1305 — one of the most thoroughly documented origins in the Bordeaux vineyard. Bernard Magrez took the helm in 1983 and went on to achieve a perfect Parker score of 100 for the 2009 vintage. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the depth of its Cabernet Sauvignon-led reds and the aromatic precision of its whites, both shaped by soils farmed under HVE and Terra Vitis certifications. A benchmark Pessac-Léognan, equally at home in the cellar or on the table.
