Breeding
21 months in French oak barrels (approximately 65% new wood)
On the eye
Deep purple-garnet robe of remarkable intensity and depth
On the nose
A complex bouquet revealing layers of dark fruit—cassis, wild blackberry and black cherry—with subtle secondary notes emerging as the wine opens. Aromatic precision and restraint characterise the nose.
In the mouth
The palate displays the hallmark Palmer elegance. Merlot contributes refinement and precise, vibrant fruit; Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and rigour. The finish extends gracefully across dark fruit and fine spice, with remarkable persistence.
M. Francois
Château Palmer remains true to its distinctive style: refined, subtle and elegant. The 2020 vintage encapsulates the estate's philosophy—a wine of finesse rather than power, where complexity unfolds through careful attention and time. This is Margaux expressed with restraint and precision, a wine for those who understand that true quality whispers rather than shouts.
