Product features : Champagne Delavenne Bouzy Côteaux Champenois 2018

Breeding
Ageing in oak barrels for approximately 15 to 18 months to soften the tannins
On the eye
Intense ruby-red robe with brilliant cherry-black reflections. Notably deeper than typical Champagne reds, yet perfectly clear and luminous.
On the nose
Beautifully complex bouquet of red berries, cherry and blackberry with subtle leather and spice notes. The aromatics develop with air, revealing further layers of fruit and mineral character.
In the mouth
Forthright attack with velvety texture. Dense and structured for a Champagne, with a fine, silky tannin framework that provides grip without astringency. The finish is long and persistent.
M. Francois
The exceptional 2018 vintage allowed Pinot Noir to achieve perfect phenolic ripeness, resulting in a wine of rare density and poise. Excellent with grilled meats, white fish with subtle spicing, and soft cheeses. A serious food wine that rewards careful cellaring.

CHAMPAGNE DELAVENNE PERE & FILS

Based in Bouzy, one of the Montagne de Reims' seventeen Grand Cru villages, Champagne Delavenne Père & Fils cultivates 9 hectares of chalk-based vineyards across Bouzy, Ambonnay and Cramant, currently in organic conversion. Founded in 1920, the House has been led since 2008 by Jean-Christophe and Maëlle Delavenne, the fourth generation, who have steered it towards a more terroir-driven approach on these expressive chalky soils. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this House for the precision of its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blends, the mineral clarity that Bouzy's chalk imparts, and the integrity of its organic conversion commitment. Champagnes of real character, firmly rooted in one of the Marne's most celebrated villages.
