WINE | RED WINE | BORDEAUX | MARGAUX SECOND CRU CLASSE
Bottle of : 0.75L

One of Bordeaux's most substantial classified estates

  • A harmonious marriage of ripe dark fruits, subtle spice and refined oak. The structure is elegant and restrained, with the wood playing a supporting role rather than dominating the palate. This is classical Margaux in its finest expression.
  • A wine of considerable ageing potential. The 2017 vintage demonstrates the balance and complexity required for extended cellaring, developing greater nuance and depth over the coming years.
  • Purchased directly from the château, our allocation allows us to offer this second growth at a price that reflects our merchant relationship rather than retail markup.

Product features : Chateau Lascombes - 2nd Cru Classé 2017 — Margaux

In the mouth
The palate reveals elegant structure with fine-grained tannins. Ripe dark fruits are complemented by subtle spice and restrained oak influence. The finish is long and persistent, with a whisper of dark chocolate and a mineral edge.
On the nose
Delicate and complex bouquet dominated by ripe dark fruits—blackcurrant and plum—enhanced by discreet, harmonious oak. Secondary notes of graphite and dried herbs emerge with aeration.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby with deep garnet hues
M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted and grilled red meats, particularly beef and lamb. It would also complement game dishes and mature cheeses. Decant thirty minutes before serving to allow the wine to open fully. Drinking well now, but will continue to develop through the 2030s.
