Breeding
100% barrel-aged with 46% new oak for 12 to 18 months
On the eye
Deep garnet red, with an intensity that speaks to the vintage's concentration
On the nose
Pronounced and layered aromatics: dark berries, black currant, with undertones of graphite and white pepper. The complexity unfolds gradually in the glass.
In the mouth
Full-bodied and muscular, with supple tannins and excellent structure. The finish is persistent, with lingering notes of dark fruit and subtle spice.
M. Francois
A wine of genuine versatility at table. Red meats, game, and dishes with warming spices all find their match here. The 2016 vintage's natural acidity ensures this wine will complement robust preparations without overwhelming them. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the wine to fully express itself.

CHATEAU CLAUZET

Set across 23 hectares of deep gravel soils in Saint-Estèphe, Gironde, Château Clauzet produces exclusively red wines in one of the Médoc's most characterful appellations. Founded in 1890, the château takes its name from the union of Olympe Bernard and Pierre Ulysse Clauzet — a marriage that shaped its entire history. Since 2018, the Cardon family, already proprietors of Château La Haye, have brought renewed ambition to a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its viticulture on deep graves, the typicity of its Saint-Estèphe reds, and the coherence of a family project firmly rooted in Médoc terroir. A dependable reference for lovers of structured, age-worthy Bordeaux.
