Where terroir and cépage achieve their finest expression

  • A distinguished Saint-Estèphe that demonstrates the Left Bank's characteristic structure and depth. The 2017 vintage shows the appellation's hallmark power tempered by elegant fruit definition.
  • Well-suited to an unhurried dinner with fellow enthusiasts. The wine's weight and complexity reward thoughtful pairing with substantial fare and good conversation.
  • This is not a wine to open prematurely. The tannin structure suggests patience will be rewarded; cellaring for several years will allow the components to integrate and develop further complexity.

Breeding
100% barrel-aged, 46% new oak, for 12 to 18 months
On the eye
Deep garnet, with the density characteristic of serious Left Bank Bordeaux.
On the nose
Pronounced and layered aromatics: dark berries, black cherry, white pepper, and subtle mineral undertones. The bouquet develops with air, revealing further complexity.
In the mouth
Richly textured with good weight and concentration. The palate shows excellent length, with fine-grained tannins providing structure without harshness. A wine of substance and balance.
M. Francois
A natural companion to red meat, game, and spiced preparations. The wine's structure and depth make it equally at home with casseroled venison or a properly aged beef. Decanting an hour before service will enhance its expression.

CHATEAU CLAUZET

Set across 23 hectares of deep gravel soils in Saint-Estèphe, Gironde, Château Clauzet produces exclusively red wines in one of the Médoc's most characterful appellations. Founded in 1890, the château takes its name from the union of Olympe Bernard and Pierre Ulysse Clauzet — a marriage that shaped its entire history. Since 2018, the Cardon family, already proprietors of Château La Haye, have brought renewed ambition to a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its viticulture on deep graves, the typicity of its Saint-Estèphe reds, and the coherence of a family project firmly rooted in Médoc terroir. A dependable reference for lovers of structured, age-worthy Bordeaux.
