CHATEAU MOULIN RICHE
Covering 20 contiguous hectares on Garonne gravels and aeolian sands in the north-west of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, Château Moulin Riche is a rare single-block vineyard. Founded in 1885 and acquired by the Cuvelier family in 1920, it is the only Saint-Julien wine classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 1932. After decades as the second wine of Léoville Poyferré, it reclaimed independence as a grand vin from the 2009 vintage. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this château for its restored identity, the precision of its Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot blend, and a terroir now fully expressed on its own terms. A Saint-Julien of real character, worth following vintage by vintage.
