Breeding
Aged in 80% new oak barrels for 18 months.
On the eye
Deep garnet robe with excellent colour intensity and clarity.
On the nose
Complex bouquet of ripe dark fruits, vanilla and toasted oak. The aromatics develop gradually, revealing layers of subtle spice and graphite minerality characteristic of the terroir.
In the mouth
Round and generous on the palate with excellent balance. The structure is supple and silken, with fine-grained tannins that support rather than dominate. The finish is persistent and refined, leaving an impression of elegance and restraint.
M. Francois
Cos d'Estournel exemplifies the finest qualities of Saint-Estèphe: athletic structure tempered by textural refinement. This hedonistic, sensual wine possesses remarkable precision and style. Excellent with roasted red meats, lamb tagine with dried fruits, pork fillet, or veal with mushrooms. A wine of considerable merit that will develop beautifully over the coming years.

CHATEAU COS D'ESTOURNEL

Set on the hillsides of Saint-Estèphe, Château Cos d'Estournel covers 100 hectares classified as a 2nd Grand Cru Classé in 1855, now fully organic since 2024. Founded in 1811 by Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel — nicknamed the Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe for his pioneering trade with India — the château embodies the depth and structural precision of this appellation: deep quaternary gravels, Cabernet Sauvignon at its core, and a measured élevage that rewards patience. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for its organic commitment, exceptional terroir, and the remarkable consistency of a classified growth that ages with genuine distinction.
