Saint-Estèphe's oldest estate, classified in 1855

  • Classified as a Fourth Growth at the 1855 Paris Exposition Universelle, Lafon-Rochet represents nearly four centuries of continuous winemaking on its Saint-Estèphe terroir, with documented ownership tracing to 1650.
  • The estate benefits from the collective expertise of three distinguished Médoc properties—Issan, Pédesclaux, and Lilian Ladouys—all under the same ownership, ensuring consistent quality and refined winemaking practices.
  • The 2016 vintage expresses a luminous yet complex Saint-Estèphe, balancing the appellation's characteristic structure with elegant fruit expression and refined tannin architecture.

On the eye
Deep, intense colour with excellent clarity and depth.
On the nose
Generous aromas of red fruits—cassis and plum—with subtle secondary notes of cedar and graphite that develop with air.
In the mouth
Supple, well-integrated tannins provide both flesh and framework. The palate is harmonious and layered, with good length and a mineral finish characteristic of the Saint-Estèphe terroir.
