  • This Gouverneur cuvée displays the structural balance and mineral precision characteristic of northern Rhône wines, yet with the riper fruit and warmth of Provence. A wine of genuine complexity and restraint.
  • Marked by considerable length and distinction, this vintage demonstrates genuine ageing potential. The tannin structure is sufficiently refined to reward cellaring over the coming decade.
  • The domaine has farmed organically since 2016 and holds HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification, reflecting a serious commitment to sustainable viticulture and environmental stewardship.

Product features : Citadelle Gouverneur St Auban 2013 Luberon Red 75cl

In the mouth
Suave attack followed by a full, structured palate. Ripe stone fruit and dark berries are woven through a well-built tannin framework. The finish is long and composed, with controlled oak integration and good mineral grip.
On the nose
Intense and layered bouquet: ripe blackberry and blackcurrant lead, with liquorice and subtle spice notes. Vanilla and toasted oak frame the fruit without dominating—well-judged élevage.
On the eye
Deep ruby-red colour with good saturation and clarity. A wine of substance and maturity.
Breeding
Aged in new oak for 60% and 40% in one-year-old barrels for 12 months
M. Francois
I would serve this with risotto finished with young Parmigiano-Reggiano and a whisper of Sarawak pepper—the wine's structure and spice notes complement that dish beautifully. It's equally at home with roasted game or mature cheeses. A serious bottle that repays attention.
