In 2000, the Thibeau family — operating under the EARL T&F — took the helm of this Gironde château, qualifying for the jeune agriculteur scheme that supports new entrants to French farming. Sainte-Colombe, a commune nestled in the Libournais, sits within the broader Bordeaux appellation and offers the kind of quietly expressive terroir that rewards patient, attentive viticulture. From the outset, the Thibeaus brought an energy and a clear sense of purpose to the estate: they were not inheriting a ready-made reputation, but building one, vine row by vine row.

The 20 hectares of Château Quatre Rieux are planted on argilo-calcaire — clay-limestone soils — which provide excellent drainage and a natural mineral tension that underpins the château's red wines.
