The origins of this estate reach back to 1240, when it was known as the Château Milhau-Lacugue — one of the older viticultural properties in the Languedoc. For centuries it produced conventional wines from its Hérault terroir, its identity shaped by the rhythms of the surrounding garrigue and the warm, sun-drenched climate of the Saint-Chinian hills. In 2022, Fathi Benni acquired the property and undertook a decisive reorientation, renaming it Château Petit Béret and redirecting its entire output towards a market that serious wine producers had, until then, largely overlooked: those who seek genuine wine character without the alcohol.
