A winemaking lineage stretching back to the sixteenth century

The story of the Leredde family does not begin in 1960. Historical records connect them to a line of laboureurs-vignerons — farmer-vignerons — established in the Marne Valley since the 1500s. This is not a House built on recent ambition, but one shaped by centuries of working the same land, reading the same slopes, and transmitting knowledge from one generation to the next. Paul and Marie-Louise Leredde gave that heritage a commercial form in 1960, marketing their first Champagnes through a cooperative. The House was already expressing the character of its terroir; it simply needed time to stand fully on its own.

Jean-Yves Leredde and the move to independent champagnisation

The decisive step came in 1979, when Jean-Yves Leredde took over the family vineyards and began conducting the full champagnisation process himself. This shift — from cooperative member to independent récoltant-manipulant — is significant. It means that every stage of production, from harvest to disgorgement, is controlled within the House. Jean-Yves works across 7 hectares on the sun-facing slopes of the Vallée de la Marne, a sub-zone of the Champagne appellation particularly well suited to Pinot Meunier, the dominant variety here.
